I built a WordPress blog with restricted access to content for a client. Part of the blog content shows on the page, but you have to register as a website user in order to have full access to content. WP-Members plugin was used to handle the registration process. I customized this process so once a user registers, they are auto logged in and can go strait to the blog, rather than having to login with their username and password first. The client also wanted a pop up window to prompt users to register while reading the article. The functionality needed to show the pop up to only non logged in users after a set period of time. Also the pop up window could only display on certain pages on the web site. I used the WordPress popup plugin PopupMaker to accomplish most of the conditions requested by my client. . The one challenge was to block the popup window from displaying once a user had registered and logged in. I added custom code the theme functions file to accomplish this.
